With our first child on its way, we wanted to look at baby name books. So many on the market are simply full of lists with very little thought of meaning. However, this book thouroughly explains the history and meaning behind over 2000 Sanskrit names. It is written in such a way that a Westerner will understand and be able to pronounciate the Sanskrit language. This book proved even more fascinating than simply a baby name choosing exercise. It is a whole reference to the history of Sanskrit and an extremely enjoyable read. Sanskrit is an understated language that we in the West have little knowledge on. This book has opened a whole new chapter in the learning of this beautiful ancient language.
