Good, but not brilliant

I have to say a lot of the info in this book seems out of date when compared to current theory and practise on growing, at least as far as the stuff on the net on indoor growing is concerned. The book tends to assume you will grow one lot of plants a year, even for indoor grows under HPS lights, and veg and flower them for months, whereas modern techniques call for a three to four month cycle maximum. I would recco6end it for the stuff on outdoor growing, but to be honest, the stuff on indoor just doesn't cut the mustard.

I won't even try to list the stuff that's contained in this book, there's LOADS. I was most impressed with the information on nutrients and nutrient deficiencies, it's the most detailed yet easy to understand info I've ever read about nutrients. And the information about THC is unbelievable! It gives lots and lots of tables and charts about what parts of the plant contain the most THC, how temperature, water and humidity affect THC etc. The info on drying and curing is pretty good too. The only negetive things I have to say are that the info was a bit scattered, it could do with being organised a little better. It could do with updating a little- it mentions incandescant lights and tin-foil!! It's also a bit thin in certain topics, I could find hardly any info on how to take clones. And it appeals more to the outdoor grower(it talks about buying/mixing soil ammendments by the ton!!) It contains some fantastic (colour) photos though. The only thing I use the book for now is to get info on nutrients.

university standard botany...
|
|
The marijuana knowledge presented here is superb - but looking beyond that there is even more. As a botanical book this demonstrates a high level of understanding on a wide range of subjects, providing some very useful bits of information and invaluably enlightening the reader. As a marijuana guide it does the same. Very educational and I would recommend it to anyone doing university level botany. Not just for tokers - this book is a jewel for anyone...

This is a must have. A very informative book and interesting to read even if you do not grow MJ. It covers just about everything you will need to know, and a lot more besides. Good for newbies it is clear and easy to understand with excellent pictures to help you on your way to cloud 9!

A must for stoners, growers, or just anybody into botany.

This book is amazing! It not only has stuff beginners will understand, but it has info on more advanced subjects (not a must to read, but you might want to for more knowledge.) The book starts off with a brief description of why Marijuana is illegal. PS The paperback is ok, but pay the extra cash for the spiral...easier to follow instructions out of.
