Great series

This series is wonderful. I read the Mandie Books when I was a little girl and I'm so pleased to see that Leppard is still writing them. I would recommend this series for any young girl.

This first book in the Mandie series is one of the best ones, and they're all very good. It starts out when her loving father dies and leaves her living in a log cabin in the back woods of 1900 North Carolina with her stepmother (who she thinks is her real mother) and her nasty daughter. Mandie's old indian friend, Uncle Ned, helps her run away to her rich uncle John's house in Franklin. She finds that he is reported dead, but left a will in the house. She and her two friends, Joe and Polly, help her look. More mstery is introduced. This book, contrary to it's sad opening, has a very joyous ending! PLEASE, Mrs. Leppard, keep writing these!

The story is about two little girls who find out mysterys.This book I read is about a girl named Mandie who has alot of sadness. Her father dies and her mother treats her bad.She doesn't know why but later finds out that this is not her mother.So she runs away to live with her Uncle Ned an Indian. Her Uncle Ned is a rich man that lives in a mansion.Her uncle helps Mandie find her real parent's and when they do they find out that her father is dead but her mother is not. She also finds out that her mother is a rich lady.Now that she finds her mother her mother is getting married to annother man.So now that she is rich every where she goes she finds adventures to discover.

Lois Gladys Leppard is a very talented author. She knows exactly how to draw the attenion of any 8-12 year old to her fantastic books. In the first chapter, Mandie's father dies and her stepmother is cruel to her. So, her dear indian friend, Uncle Ned leads her to her uncle John's mansion where she discovers a tunnel built by her great-
grandfather in order to hide the Cherokees when they were being driven out of their land by the whites. Also she is reunited with her real mother, who marries Mandie's uncle John.
This great story will keep you on the edge of your seat and not want to put it down. Keep writing those Mandie books, Mrs. Leppard!

It is sad at first how Mandie's father died.Then when she meets her Uncle John and her Mother it gets better and better!I love the Mandie series and I am a GUY!
