Gives students confidence
I have found this book extremely useful in the classroom and my students have benefitted from it tremendously as their results testify. My only criticism is that there is a lot of material which is not necessarily relevant to all students - e.g Christian Belief, but it is still worth getting nevertheless. I note that a previous reviewer suggests there are several errors. I haven't found these myself, and since the book is recommended on the back by Peter Cole, I can't imagine he'd recommend a book which was inaccurate.

Too many errors
This book is very well presented and looks immediately attractive, but I warn my students not to use it, especially for Philosophy of Religion - the sections on this are full of significant errors. Misunderstandings from other textbooks are uncritically repeated, there is too little reliance on primary texts, and uncertain expression - perhaps reflective of the authors' own uncertainties - can lead to further misinterpretation. I cannot comment on other areas, but for philosophical material, stick to Brian Davies.

makes A-Level R.S bearable!!
No matter what topics you do in R.S, it won't matter! This book literally covers every possible topic. Not only does it make the units a lot more easy to understand (especially the philosophers' opinions), it also condenses it all into one book. Initially we worked from 2 textbooks and countless photocopies....however I found that after buying this book it really was the only source I needed! I would recommend to any R.S student!

Perfect Resource
This is an ideal book for students taking Religious Studies at AS and A2 level. Written by experienced examiners, teachers, lecturers and authors, who have extensive and relevant knowledge of the market, it is designed to cover the course in an accessible and scholarly way. The material is at exactly the right level for AS and A2 level, and in principle, no other text books need to be used! For students who feel overwhelmed by the amount of photocopies invariably handed out by teachers, or who feel unable or reluctant to peruse the undergraduate level material which some teachers still feel necessary to offer, it is a Godsend! It is also sophisticated enough to satisfy the high level student, avoiding the picture-cartoon-joke approach of some other text books in the field. Get it today!

A useful study guide
This book had been extremely useful to me while studying for my A level Religious Studies. Always relevent and accessible to read. only downfall is perhaps its size, it is rather large and bulky but bearing that in mind it still is a wonderful resource to have. The fact that it is specificaly written for the requierments of the AS and A2 exams means it is precise and covers nearly all parts of the specification in detail. An essential book for those doing the Religious Studies A level exams.
