Visually disapointing

This may be a good book from the text point of view but the images are very poor, most of them in black and white. It is almost just text, text, text...

A masterpiece

This book does exactly what it claims to do in the title; provide a cultural autopsy on one of the most fascinating human beings alive, Marilyn Manson. Baddeley has a unique and extremely concise writing style, managing to present a huge number of facts in a clear yet easily digestible way. The sheer wealth of knowledge in this book is truly staggering and betrays the meticulous research undertaken by its' author. Anybody (fan or not) who is interested in finding out what makes Marilyn Manson tick should really read this book; it's all in here including a fair deal of input from the Reverand Manson himself, charting his life, music and the influences that drive him.A truly stunning accomplishment and a fascinating and gripping read. Hats off to Gavin Baddeley!

Baddeley has done it again.

This is another triumph by author and journalist Gavin Baddeley, I read Lucifer Rising a few years ago and was delighted by his work, I am a fan of Marilyn Manson and when Dissecting Marilyn Manson I was once again reminded of Baddeleys gift with the pen. I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Marilyn Manson or just fancies a really engaging read. Goth Chic is great as well! Mr. Baddeley, if you read this, you are a master of your field, I cannot wait to read more of your work.

the christian worshippers worst nightmare returns hurrah!

First off this may be slightly biased as am a huge fan of the iconic mr manson but then i dont get out much nor read books. it was a riveting read and im not just saying that because i spent the best part of a day drooling over the pictures. it envoked feelings about what he suffered as a child forced into a nightmare of catholic schools and self mutilation, but any one who comes through it enough to steal a few grave yard bones and smoke them can't have done that bad. this selfless insight to the metal mans genius is enough to keep any hard fan or interested newbie supporting him for many a tortured show or festival. long live the dark side

Great book it does exactly what it says on the book.

This is an incredible book it literally does what its called it dissects marilyn manson but going in depth into the aspects of his carrer wheather it be musical influences , religious influences or philosophers it helps you get to know the real marilyn manson even if your not a marilyn manson fan its still would be great because its mainly about influences and aspects of his carrer it has many sections on many other people such as Anton Lavey the founder of the Church of Satan, Charles Manson, David Bowie, Sigmund Freud and others. It also tells you marilyn mansons thoughts on Fascism, Religion, Dictators, hitler and general Nazis. A great book and i think all should read it.
