A really good book that will get you laughing - especially the bit when the pig gets stuck under a table!

John Terry was my GCSE biology teacher, lovely man, great books all of them based on stuff that happened to him and his classes.

my thoughts about pigs in the playground

I went along with my primary school in 1985 or 1986 to warickshire to meet John Terry at the school he teached at. It was the first time I had met someone 'famous' and he signed my book that I was given. It was excellent reading all about all the experiences they had in the book, as at our primary school we also had cows in an old shed which we had reared, and two pigs and chickens as well. I read the book later on in life while at school in my last year of school and had to do work on the book, which brought back lots of great memories. Then last week after moving house I come across my pigs in the playground book and had to read it, this was 10 years since I read it at school and nearly 20 years since the first time around. I was just playing around on the net and thought I would type in the words John Terry and see what happened and was very surprised to see it come up with details and reviews. The book is the best farm book I have ever read and the funniest too.

I got this book for my birthday one year when I was about 13. I have always been interested in animals and have the ambition to become a vet. I found the book funny and occasionally informative. It is a brilliant book, light-hearted and interesting. A book you can really "get stuck into!"
