I am un Italian tutor at Colleges. I think this book is exellent for AS students as well as GCSE students. It is very good for young students as well as adult learners. The strong points of this book are: it is very easy to read (in fact the dialect has been translated), it gives you a very good view of the social position of women in South Italy during the 80s and it is short enough to avoid losing the plot and getting bored (what normally happens to students who attempt to read a book which is too long or too difficult).
