One of my worst purchases

This book was absolutely dreadful. Based on the synopsis and the gushing reviews I expected a humorous historical romance, but this was so foolish it was appalling. The heroine, Gillian, is so accident prone that I don't understand how she survived to adulthood. What is supposed to be endearingly cute/funny comes across as witless behaviour on her part. The hero, Noble, is little better. I nearly understand why he treats Gillian so very badly (certainly I would've strangled her early on) but he seems a very one-dimensional character. The change in his attitude/behaviour by the ending is not convincing and far too quickly resolved. Some of the minor characters were good (those who were not thoroughly over-the-top), so I imagine Ms. MacAllister *could* write a decent book. But for now she's on my "don't ever buy again" list.

LAUGH? I DIDN'T STOP!!!!

What a fantastic book- You must buy it. It is so funny, how can so many things happen to one person? I read this book in a day and have now passed it to a friend who doesn't usually read this kind of thing but I know she will love it! A romantic farce- in the nice sense of the word. Funny, funny, funny- well done Katie- More please!!!!!

What a disappointment!!

I was really disappointed with this book. The storyline is awful, the writing and dialogue poor and it in fact was so difficult to keep my interest, i did not actually finish the book. If you like reading historical fiction, try Judith McNaught instead. This book was DIRE.

This book was the best!!! This is the funniest romance I have ever read. I strongly recommend it, but make sure you read it on an empty bladder.

Completely Hilarious!
|
I have rarely read a story that can make me laugh out loud from start to finnish but here is one of the very few. I picked this one up on the strength of its' reviews but i was still fairly dubious, as i usually prefer to read the blurb before i buy a book. However the previous reviewers were soon proven to be exactly right and i read the book from cover to cover in a couple of hours! Immediately upon finnishing it i passed it around to all of my bookworm friends and they loved it just as much. I am waiting impatiently for another to to be published but in the mean time, in between re-reading it for the third time and searching for more stories that reach up to its' high standards, i am busy forcing it down the throat of anyone who has yet to enjoy the side-clenching humour! Hurry and write another Katie!
