Very good - read it

You may have come across this book because you like the author, or just at random (perhaps doing a search for viking saga and came across this by mistake - who knows). But it's worth reading if you like Sci-Fi at all. In-fact if you don't like Sci-fi it's worth a read too.
The writing style is good because it's easy to read and expresses well everything that is conveyed. At no point to you struggle with the prose in-order to understand and enjoy the stories. I say stories because it's a series of short stories with an overall thread and plot surrounding them. It actually works very well and makes for an easy and enjoyable read. The story is based on a child (who grows to be a man - funny that) who has the ability to read minds. After a few stories the child (now a man) goes to colonise a new planet (with other humans as well....t'would be a strange gene pool otherwise!).
Anyway, using cryogenics of some kind he "sleeps" through the evolution of the planet that he colonised, keen to see how his genes develop and what the outcome will be.
The result is fascinating and interesting. This book is actually worth buying as opposed to just getting out of the library.
