good pictures, stick to the subject on the text
|
This is a good book, honestly, but the words to go with the pictures are a little disappointing.
All of the photographs show the mans transition of his career very nicely and capture the subject well. Some of the interviews are relevant, but the opening interview with Beck seems to be more of a chat about photoshoots in general than Mr Smith. I have never understood the Elliott Smith to Death Cab for Cutie comparisons and the interview with him doesn't really add anything.
Close, but no cigar.
