Customer Reviews:
For the Social Skill-less
I've read the reviews of this book and don't agree with them.

OK, if you are socially skillful then this book may not be for you but for those who blanche at the thought of going into a room of new people it gives some basic idea on how to deal with anyone.

In addition, it helps you understand some basic conversation openers for quite a few occupations / hobbies that will allow you to look like you are a great conversationalist when infact you just asked a question and then let them talk.

Where this would be best is if you are going to an event (dinner / party etc) where you don't know too many people but can find out in advance about the interests of some of the people present. Then you can swot up on some of the openers.

It isn't rocket science but then social skills aren't if you have them - but they seem like nuclear physics if you haven't got them.

We've got a friend who is petrified of making conversation at a party and this is going to be his Xmas pressie

The worst book ever written
This is a truly awful book. It appears to give top tips on how to sound like an idiot. First you establish what a person is interested in, then you dash to the bathroom to look up appropriate questions to ask such a person! If their career or hobby is not listed then I guess you just have to sneak out through a back door and go home!

I have found one use for the book. It is rather fun to get a group of friends together take it in turns to randomly pick questions to ask perfect strangers. Questions include 'Do you prefer English or Western style?' and 'Have you performed many wet exits?'.

What do you mean I can't give it zero stars?
This book is completely useless. You can spend hours memorizing the sample questions on how to talk to an accountant, a bodybuilder, or whatever, but all you'll be doing is conducting an interview and pretending like your informed when really your not. I don't call that communication. Save your money.
Read it!!!
If you want to become a better conversationalist this is the book for you. It goes through over 500 different occupations... giving you all the inside information you need to talk easily with anyone, anywhere, anytime. This isn't a book to be read cover to cover, it's a book that can be read 5 min. a day. However you read it this book may change your life forever.
