Good read for Shi'ar fans

I quite enjoyed this book. It follows on from Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire but also has a new storyline with the Shi'ar which gives good insight on how the Shi'ar is run. Also Havok, Polaris and Marvel Girl, being some of my favourite x-men, show good character developments and work well together as the new Starjammers. Vulcan also seems to be becoming a more interesting villain. The end doesn't neatly conclude everything like some people hoped, but I found it more satisfying and realistic than the neat tied together endings books usually have and wouldn't mind forking out for a follow up mini. If you enjoyed the Rise and Fall of Shi'ar empire you should enjoy this.

This follows on from the rise and fall of the shi'ar empire and deadly genesis.

Sadly it isn't as good as either, Chris Yost has a fair story to tell and elements are well thought out but the script leaves a little to be desired and ultimately the whole story feels a little pointless. It doesn't end this saga, it is merely another chapter in a saga that doesn't want to end, and this feels like a middle chapter that is waiting to be finished.
The art is okay, nothing special but between penciller inker and colourist the end result is solid enough.
