Dummies Could Do More!

A good reference book for the beginner - well laid out and easy to follow. However, pity they didn't read "Proofreading for Dummies" before publishing...the "Cheat Sheet" has incorrect chapter references and the first section I read (creating audio CDs) referred me to a Figure drawing which had nothing at all to do with the particular sub-topic and the correct Figure described in the text was nowhere to be found. This book could also benefit from a troubleshooting section at the end of each chapter (ie if something doesn't work here's some things to check) - something I'm sure new users would appreciate. The author certainly knows the product and I think that causes him to miss out some of the very basic practical advice on things that beginners wouldn't know eg: it's best to use a CD-R disc for creating audio CDs to play on stand alone CD players rather than a CD-RW disc even though the Roxio software clearly indicates you can use a CD-RW disc (CD-RW discs won't work on many home/car CD players). But gripes aside I found the book very useful and a worthwhile addition to my bookshelf.
