Not bad

Not a bad introductory book but there are better ones the market. The style jarred on me a bit.

A worthy buy for a Uni student, or just anyone interested!

I got this book as a guide for an essay I had to do; a case study on an artist on my choice. As someone who took an Art Course (history or art & museums) you're required and realised upon to use alot of book material when gathering research, and took a gamble on this book, despite no reviews.
It may be a decieving for some when they open the chapter page, for large portions of the book cover the history of art, and how it developed from simplistic mediums, to the cubism developed by Picasso. This is done by structuring the book into chapters of artists, genres of art, and other related ways we can look at it, as well as famous methods used, and cult paintings. Their is a few full colour paintings in the middle of the book, which is quite nice.
Personally, I've found this to be a very informative and easy to read book that even when i'm not doing work, I find quite nice to read (that's saying alot, I DJ most of the time!). But as it's title says, this is written in dummy fashion, so if you struggle to understand this, then go back to school!
Well done 'Andrew Wyeth' for writing such an packed and interesting book! The Dummy series is excellent and i'm already building up a collection! Though they're being hid away when mates are around; otherwise I will be a dummy!
