This book is aimed at musicians and people who wish to find out what all the fuss is about MP3s. It briefely covers some of the theory behind MP3 technology, but is mostly a practical guide on how to get those tunes playing. Musicians can learn how to use MP3s to reach a wider audience (and possibly do it profitably). Andy Rathbone has extensive experience of MP3s and has included numerous useful tips that only one with insider knowledge could have gained. One problem with a book on this subject is that the technology is moving so fast that the software / hardware covered in the book is very rapidly out of date. This is not a book for people who wish to have an up to date reference guide for state of the art MP3 technology. It is, however, a very good book for those looking for a practical guide on how to start listening to MP3s.
