Indispensable

Come un principiante in Italiano, this book is an extremely useful reference containing around 2000 words and expressions including an index of common English idioms as well as an index in Italian. I'm just beginning to read Italian without a translation, so my copy gets lots of use. In my opinion, the authors have done a fantastic job. Two thumbs up as well for the clear plastic cover and the nice small size.

It's ok...

This is an ok book. It is very small, and does contain quite a few idioms. However, a few Italian friends of mine said they would never say some of the idioms that are contained within the book. They say that some sound very odd. Plus, whenever I've needed to look up an idiom I've read in a newspaper or somewhere else, it is rarely present in this book. On the whole, it wouldn't be harmful to have it on your bookshelf, but don't rely on it...

Absolutly amazing, when reading Italian articles I came accross phrases which made no sense to me at all (Idioms/slag) and this book EASILY solved this problem, buy it. Great stuff.

a great book

I spent two years in Italy and friends tell me I understand the language very well. However this book is useful for beginners and advanced students (also for italians learning english) I still find myself dipping into it regulary and it's pocket-sized. A great book - indispensible for learning the idioms you need to really get on with italian.
