A must for every beginner - step by step

I keep this book propped up by my sewing machine. This book takes you through each step. From buying supplies & materials to finishing your bear, and patterns for clothes. The pictures are clear and accurate, and there are lots of them, great if you want the visual on how to as well. The instructions are eaasy to follow, with lots of tips. This is my main reference book.

Excellent all-round, practical guide to making bears
I am new to teddy bear making, and so I wanted to know all about the techniques and the tips without having to sit through an evening class, or read through some dry history of toy bears and fabrics before getting to the hands-on part. This book is an excellent introduction, with step-by-step photographs of all the basic and more advanced techniques you need. If you can follow instructions, and you like to be hands-on while you're learning, then this book is worth buying. It even shows you how to make a pattern of your own and there is an excellent section on making miniatures. Another plus is that all of the different fabrics, furs and tools are 'photographed' rather than just listed - often the sales person in a craft store isn't a teddy-bear enthusiast and doesn't know what you may need, or recognise the names of different fabrics, so the photographs are helpful if you find yourself buying materials somewhere other than a specialist teddy-bear store.

Excellent introduction to the art of making teddy bears.

Having made teddy bears as a hobby for several years, I wish this book had been available when I was first struggling through my first teddy bear pattern. This book explains it all! It is an excellent introduction to the world of teddy bears, both for those who wish to use the patterns provided and for those who wish to create their own designs.

Excellent for all bearmakers
I have been a Master Bearmaker for quite a few years now, and I find The Complete Book of Tedy Bear-Making Techniques to be a consumate primer for bearmakers of all levels. They give you quite a few hints and techniques to make your bear one of the best. The section on mini bears is excellent also. I would recommend this book for those looking to enter into bearmaking. I wish I had this book years ago.
