Fantastic and realistic

What a wonderfully written book. I have to admit I finished it in a weekend.
David Kennard tells his story with a great deal of honesty. From the hard times brought about by the foot and mouth outbreak to his fear of noone wanting to come to his sheepdog displays.
He obviously has a great deal of respect for the countryside around him, his dogs and to some extent the sheep.
I'd thouroughly recommend this to anyone with an interest in rural affairs.

This is one of two book by this author, both of which are of the same high standard. Once started you will not be able to put this down. You are taken on a year long journey through the authors life following the ups and downs of the farm, it's family and neighbours and also the countryside around. Wonderfully written, descriptive and obviously written by a man who has a great respect and love for the world around him.
Not just for those interested sheep farming. I can't recommend this enough. I have also given this a present and received the same words of praise.
