A really good read

I read this book very quickly because I was totally captivated by the characters and the fast moving story. It was funny, moving, and, as a man, quite enlightening. I believe Lou Wakefield has a new book out soon. Can't wait.

This is a very funny book - great characters, all very real. Just the ticket for taking your mind off your troubles, and if you feel the need to learn something about Italian art this is a painless way to do so.A Devoted Reader.

Tuscan Delight

Set in the idylic region of Tuscany this hilariously witty and charming book about a group of missed matched couples thrown together at a holiday villa had me laughing out loud. I can highly recommend this book

A book to cheer you up!

As below, I found this book a wonderful read on holidays but don't leave it behind! It is also a great book to bury yourself in if you are a bit down - it makes you laugh and cheers you up and you can't put it down! Loved the characters and the setting is just perfect.

Don't take this on holiday to Tuscany!
|
I read this book feeling that as an art teacher, I would feel some empathy for the main character of the book - Marion Hardcastle (also an art teacher). The ridiculous plot of her setting off for a holiday in Tuscany with a fellow staff member and his wife , then meeting up with some vaguely famous TV "luvvies" at a holiday villa which they are all sharing, is actually fairly ludicrous. The romantic plot is pretty daft, and the references to art and architecture are at most facile, within the context of this "holiday" read. I passed this book on to a friend whose two children, a girl of 13, and boy of 10 read this novel with ease and enjoyment ! This is where this novel is at !
