Customer Reviews:
Fast paced and moving.
I bought this book for a long journey and it kept me entertained for many hours. The characters are lovable from the start and the plot is woven with moving episodes both happy and sad to keep your interest. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to any readers who like romance set in the second world war. There are nice descriptions of Coverack and some fast paced chilling events abroad in France. Money well spent in my opinion. Enjoy!!
Good book set war-time Cornwall
Maizie Blackacre is a woman who spending her time during the war looking after the family hotel while her husband is in the merchant navy. Chriastian Le Gall is a French soldier still recovery from his injuries he recieved at Dunkirk. Dispite Maizie being married, they meet and fall in love in the backdrop of Cornwall.
"Wild Strawberries" by Emma Blair is pretty good book. As in of books by Ms. Blair, the pace of the book is good and holds the readers interest and makes then want to learn more about these two wounded souls that ment during one of England's darkest hours. Overall "Wild Strawberries" should not be missed by any fan of Ms. Blairs.
My first novel by Blair was wildly entertaining.
A wildly romantic, suspenseful tale of a secluded Cornish community banding together to fight off the Germans during WWII. The main characters include a childless innskeeper, 2 small evacuees, and a dashing French soldier. There are some nice subplots and vivid desciptions of SCornwall...
I enjoyed my first Blair novel.
WILD STRAWBERRIES is a suspenseful, romantic tale of a small, secluded Cornish community, who beause of their loyalty to England, fights off the Germans A lonely, childless hotel owner, a dashing Frenchman, and 2 forgotten evacuees make this story a lovely adventure.I think anyone who loved Pilcher's COMING HOME would be please with this lovely story.
Not worthy of being sold at amazon!
dire stuff, there are many authors who write this sort of cushy predictable romance. stay clear of this if you can.
