Customer Reviews:
Inspired!
This book has such stunning photograps of alien food. It will inspire you to try to impress you friends with some xenocuisine. Of course some of these pictures show elaborate cutlery and plates which you won't find in the average kitchen, but the recipes themselves are a lot more achievable. There are two chapters on human foods (Russian from Ivanova and US/Italian from Garibaldi) but even these are updated for the 23rd century. Also there are recipes from Londo, G'kar and Lennier. It even includes two separate recipes for Spoo (the Centauri and Narn variations) and some interesting drinks as well.
An inspiring (and now collectible) book!
Rarest and Best of All Babylon 5 books!
This "cook book" written by Steve Smith, is the rarest of all Babylon 5-related books and novels. It is also one of the most useful. I have never seen - outside of Fried Green Tomatos - a cook book that is actually usable, based on a movie or series.

This is written from the perspective of many of the B5 residents and aliens - from Susan Ivanova's Russian/Jewish meals, to the Minbari Flarn, Centauri Spoo (it's quite fresh!), Narn "swedish meatballs" to Garibaldi's .. well ... everything :)

The great thing about Dining is that you really CAN enjoy the meals shown in the series! Have you ever wondered just how Flarn was really made? Well .. now you know. And conveniently, Mr Smith has translated certain ... not easily available ingredients (including those which would normally kill or poison a human) into readily available items you can find in your neighborhood grocery store!

I would encourage anyone who has even a remote interest in the series - or in cooking! - to purchase this book. You will NOT be disappointed, I guarantee it!
