A is for Alkali
|
Young's thesis is that the food we eat is too biased towards the acidic end of the spectrum. Faced with a net acidic balance the body suffers the effects of gastric acid disorders, but it also stores the excess acid in fat. He therefore recommends that one reverses the process, go alkaline and flush the acid out of your body. After this your body will no longer need to store fat. Since the foods on the acidic list contain a number of foods that I commonly overeat I cannot see following the approach moderately will hurt. The switch to making water alkaline has certainly relaxed my stomach and a minimum of effort.
This approach is in line with other writers like Christopher Vasey (no relation) and Gudron Jonsson.

I AM MOTIVATED
|
The opening paragraph of this book is so motivating...
"Lets start with a little maths. How many pounds do you need to shed before you reach your ideal healthy weight? 10? 30? 100?
Whatever your answer, multiply it by 2.
You are now looking at the maximum number of days it will take you to reach that ideal weight, if you follow the pH miracle living plan."
Sound great to me! Im totally up for this!
If you want to follow this diet you will need to like drinking water and eating lots of veg! Cos thats a lot of what you do, but there are loads of receipes in the back of the book which look good.
