Excellent introduction into electronics

This book is an excellent introduction into the basics of electronics and assumes no prior knowledge.
It gently progresses through the subject does not take any short cuts.
Some people may find it a bit dry and boring but if you are willing to take the time and effort required to work through this book, you will not regret it. Volume 2 of this book Further Electrical and Electronic Principles in an equally excellent book and these two books will take you to an HNC level of understanding in electrical and electronic principles.
