"How People Tick" is obviously aimed at the business community. However, the book contains so many useful strategies and tips in dealing with "difficult people" that many of the suggested solutions can be applied to personal situations. The book is best used as a reference guide, but is also enjoyable as a "bedtime read" in order to improve ones own way of responding to people who are difficult to handle. The author provides many "true-life" examples, which are easily recognised as typical situations by us all. More importantly, these examples are a useful reminder of how the reader can change their behaviour in dealing with other people. The author uses every-day language to illustrate the points made and one is left with the impression that the psychology of dealing with difficult people can be easily mastered. (I found it so.) At £9.99 for nearly 200 pages, which is very reasonable, I thoroughly recommend "How People Tick - A guide to difficult people and how to handle them".
