Best book on Campanology

I borrowed this book from Longton Library in Stoke-on-Trent and it helped me to do a project I was working on at College for the Moving On group. I showed this book to the bell captain John Hazeldine and he is also my teacher on bellringing at St Lawrence's Church in Biddulph and he was Shocked that I brought it for the project as he was teaching me how to ring the bells in the belfry and how to do hand stroke and back stroke on the ropes. When John Hazeldine saw me reading the book he asked me what was I reading. I told him it was Discovering Bells and Bellringing and he said oh Heck and I said why it's helping me with my project on campanology.

Always a pleasure to read

When i first purchased this book i was a little apprehensive. I am fairly new to bell ringing, and although i have won a few competitions, i do not consider myself to be a professional of any kind. Upon reading the book i discovered hints and tips of how to better myself as a bell ringer. I aspire to be as good as the famous Mr J. Stevenson who can entrance audiences with his skill and passion. Hopefully this book can help me on my way. It includes a special section on how to organise your time, and recommends using a personal organiser of some sort. I have since bought a Casio ZX-5 and it has helped my bell ringing remarkably. This is just one of the tips in the book, along with the best churches to go to in the country. Definately worth buying
