This is far more than a war memoir of Vietnam. In fact the war and thelocation are almost incidental to the story. Beautifully written, the bookmakes you look deeper inside yourself to think about the important thingsin life -- love, honour, honesty, courage (of the moral kind), dignity andtruth.
Wolff is a stupendous writer and this is as good as writinggets.
