Really funny

I know this book is full of cliches and trods ground previously covered by others. It's chick lit for men. But it's incredibly funny, the characters are skillfully sketched in, and the whole thing has a kind of truthiness to it.

Very funny and worth every penny : a star!

I picked this up on the off-chance that it may be funny - you know the kind of thing - you walk into a bookshop, looking for inspiration, you read several blurbs. Some days nothing appeals. Others, there are five or six to choose from. This was one of the latter. For some reason this was the one that jumped out at me, and I loved every word. Halfway through I was ordering its predecessor on Amazon. It's chuckle out loud funny, and the caustic descriptions of Erica Birkendale are always a joy. Since I finished it there has been a void, and you can't say more than that!

Trash TV trashed
|
|
This is a very funny book clearly written by someone with an intimate knowledge of the workings of television, and therefore a naturally cynical view of the way so-called people shows are produced. This makes for some great satire in the opening chapters. It is a thriller, too, full of surprising plot twists, and also a meeting-cute novel. All in all, an excellent and multi-layered follow up to the same author's debut novel, Dumping Hilary.
