Great book to spend a week end! (don't plan anything else)

Great characters - funny, sexy, intelligent, real (and not only the main characters) and great writing. Couldn't put it down, started thinking about moving to Dublin, bought her next book "Woman to Woman", loved it just as much, thought a bit more about Dublin and am now thrilled to see that there is a third book. I'll read that one straight away and will be waiting for the next one!

An excellent book to curl up with

Dee was my favourite character as she was sexy, intelligent, had the gorgeous men after her, and she was NOT a stick insect! Hurrah for Cathy Kelly who writes about real women! And women I can identify with! Isabel was also very interesting, but she is not DEE! I have read all three of Cathy Kelly's novels and I'm a big fan. Keep writing and I'll keep buying.

The Dee character was by far my favorite- I loved that she was larger sized and that that was a big part of her life- her feelings and attitude about that. I also liked that she was by far the prettiest and sexiest chearacter in the book! I'm tired of reading about stick thin women!!! This book was also remarkable for the fact that it did not use the cliche I've encountered in almost every other UK book so far- no greying knickers! Cheers to characters who 1)know how to do laundry and 2)throw away their underwear when it starts to get old and nasty. I read the book in a few hours and have ordered the authors other 2 books and look forward to receiving them.

Fantastic and realistic at the same time. Well written.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author has a way of writing which gets one into the story straight away. Although I am younger than the characters in the book, I could really relate to both characters. The descriptions of Ireland, were as dear as I remember from a previous holiday a few years ago. It was a page-turner from the beginning. I look forward to reading more of what Cathy has to write.
