"How not to get killed"

This book is an excellent guide for anyone working in the pre-hospital environment, from first aiders, through ambulance personnel to immediate care doctors and hospital medical teams. Starting with basic principles, it goes on to cover PPE, mobilisation to scene, road traffic accidents (management & extrication), HazMat, fire, electricity, rail, aircraft collapsed structures, CasEvac, sporting events, manual handling, fitness.... with self test throughout. Although no book can replace hands-on experience in the field, I would certainly recommend it as a good place to start. This book also functions as the student guide to the "safety at scene" course run by EventMed UK - hard work but very enjoyable, and you get to learn from the man who wrote the book!!
