Appealing to a one year old - less so to parents`
|
|
Well, this book isn't aimed at adults, and my one year old daughter likes it. But it's pretty rubbish really. Beatrix Potter drawings have been given clumsy cut out sections to give textured shapes for children to touch (Tom Kitten having his face washed with a flannel and so on). Nice idea, lovely pictures original pictures, scary featureless fluffy duckling, and weak weak weak story. However - the sticky footprints are a big hit with my little girl and it is the only "touch and feel" book I have come across that has managed to include "sticky". So 4 stars because it seems to hit where it matters.

Excellent book

My daughter has always adored this book. Right from Peter Rabbit's fluffy tail on the cover through to the handkerchief at the end, she always goes back to this book. I would recommend this book to babies from 6 months up.

Beautiful Presentation

In an attempt to bestow a love of reading on my son, I've bought a wide range of books. This book has wonderful pictures and a simple storyline that a young child can easily follow and get involved with. My son loves to touch the 'sticky footprints' and rub the Peter Rabbits cottontail. My only reservation would be that the book might not survive any rough handling by a young child, but as a bedtime story, it's excellent.
