Customer Reviews:
Please buy this book now.
I recommend this book to anyone who has read anything by Graham Hancock or Robert Bauval, especially where the sphinx is concerned. I was pleasantly surprised to find an 'un-orthodox' content in this book, and I was pleased that finally someone has been brave enough to write what they think, instead of keeping with the traditional way of thinking. It is extremely informative and interesting and doesn't become too technical with its explanations. I couldn't put the book down once I had started.
Great start but then deteriorating rapidly
The first chapters of Schoch's book make an excellent read. These are the chapters that contain the geologist's views on egyptology. After that, the book becomes chaotic, a mishmash of unproven theories and possible consequences of things that haven't happened yet and may never happen at all. It's a sad thing really: half the number of pages would have been much better (that is, the first half!).
Excellent!
Dr. Schoch presents a well-formulated, convincing new theory that answers many scientific questions from a multi-disciplinary point of view. I enjoyed the book immensely.
Of urgent importance
Book is of urgent importance, but fails to reference Hoyle's (Ice...1981) original work. Denigration of Blavatsky, Churchward, Sitchin and UFOs is unnecessary. The comet swarm initiating the Bronze Age's end may soon return.
Intellectually stimulating, and very readable.
It is refreshing to read a scientific book which broadens the mind, and is accessible to us amateurs without being condescending. Schoch and McNally present some new concepts about civilization and the history of our planet in a manner that is exciting and makes sense.
