Another boring book on self-improvement? Nope!
|
Within the bewidering plethora of books on self-improvement and living life to the full, Eileen Campbell's compilation of comments and quotations is a gem. There is no lecture on how to do it better, how to get it right -- and therefore no subliminal message that somehow you must be getting it wrong! This is a positive, readable book. It is a simple book, a book to be dipped into, a book to be relished by all those who enjoy the experience of being brought up short by a single thought, who enjoy spending time reflecting on a few beautiful words or a delicate concept, and indeed a book that can offer support in a gentle, accessible way to those who may need it. It is unfortunate that it is presently unavailable, as it is a good book for giving, and in my experience, a welcome gift.
