Thorsons Calorie Counter
|
Although this little book is inexpensive it is not, in my view, good value. It concentrates on providing calorie counts for pre-packed foods and prepared meals, for which such information is normally available on the packaging in any case. It is less comprehensive for unprepared foods and omits many. I could not find, for example, shallots or garlic. It would helpful to know what calorie count there is for conventional measures, such as a teaspoon of honey or olive oil, or a cup of milk. It would also be good if the subject references on each page head were in larger type to facilitate easier reference; at present they are in smaller type than the main text.

Although there were one or two things missing, it's easy to use for dieters that want to plan their own meals. It worked for me!
