Beautiful!

This is a lovely book. All the designs are very realistic without being complicated to stitch. The colour keys are very clear and the book is packed with many designs on each page. There are 2 large sections on dogs and cats, which are really useful if you want to stitch a particular breed. There are also plenty of other pets including rodents, horses and even geese and pigs! A really beautiful book, I would give it more stars if I could! What I am looking for now is an equivilant book of wild animals, but this one will be hard to match.

Spoiled for choice

This book is excellent value for money as you are spoiled for choice on what to stitch. There are just so many charts for one book!
The first half of the book contains designs of dogs and cats. These are split into breed sections so that you will find a few designs of the most popular eg labrador dogs, as well as fun designs of cross-breeds, kittens & puppies and playful charts as well. Then there are the other pets, including hamsters, rats & gerbils, lizards, all sorts of birds and even fish. And to top it off there are designs of farm animals like geese and loads of horse designs.
There are also alphabets and sayings and suggestions for turning the designs into cards, wall-hangings, samplers and much more so you won't be stuck for ideas.
The charts are all in colour and are easy to read and they use DMC threads which are easy to obtain. They are all small enough to be suitable for beginners but are just as fun for more experienced stitchers. The best thing about them is that a lot of the designs give colour options so that for example you can choose to stitch a black, brown or golden labrador all from the same chart.
If you want to cross-stitch an animal then this is the book to get as it contains pretty much every pet you could want! Excellent value.

The best cross stitch book to appear for a long time........

I received this book today and straight away found some "must stitch" projects. There is a wonderful selection of pets to stitch - not just cats and dogs, but also various species of bird, reptile, fish and rodent amongst many more. I am sure this will be a book that I will turn to again and again - definitely one to add to your collection if you like to stitch smaller projects.
