Another word that comes to mind is 'pragmatic' as this book is easy to read and understand, and the examples are all evidence based rather than theoretical. This is valuable reading no matter what your interest in coaching is, from the beginner to the expert.

As title says, this book is an essential guide to understand coaching origins, present and future. For those who are new to Coaching this book provides a very rich map of effective "building blocks" for Coaching. All the schools and approaches are described with a very useful detail level that allows as reader to quickly build a model of How Coaching Works.
For those how already are in the Coaching world this book provides a very complete map of possible extension points for the coaching practice.
I see this book to be a key book to introduce and develop coaching students worldwide!
The authors use their fresh and nice writing style, that made this book a pleasure to read, humor is always present blended with nice metaphors that our unconscious mind to learn too.
