Shallow and simplistic
This book made me laugh out loud. The author's attempt to analyse Cohen's poetry is devoid of insight and quite frankly rather puerile. He should have stuck to describing Cohen's back catalogue (then it would indeed constitute a guide). If you're not a fan and do not care much for Cohen, you won't get irritated by the content. However, if you are familiar with Cohen's life and passionate about his work, you'll laugh and despair over this. I'm sure the author meant well but it didn't work.

Thorough and Factual

An excellent summary of all Cohen's albums, plus tribute albums. Every track is listed with a short description of its genesis. Album artworks are included (though in monochrome they lose something). If you want to know more about this most gifted of songwriters and musicians, this compact paperback is a reliable source book.
