Customer Reviews:
Interesting - well written
Some of the reviews startled me - it seems that some may have half read the book. It is well researched for sure, and fairly plainly written. The outstanding photographs really put that seed of doubt in your mind. Although I bought the book after conversations with decendents of people who actually built these ships, it was the first volume of the theory I looked at. It pretty much confirmed the tales I was told. Make your own mind up though, and as with all this type of thing we will probably never know for sure.
The ship that never sank?
I bought this book about three years ago and I was not impressed. There seemed to be very little evidence for Gardiner's switch theory about the Titanic being switched with the Olympic and it was not very convincing. To me it seems as if this book has just been written to make money and there is more fiction than fact. I have been studying the Titanic for years and know that there is no evidence to suggest that the Marconi operator, Harold Bride's escape story is untrue. He was a real hero and the character assassination done to him in this book does not make for pleasant reading.
A Must for anyone.
Excellent book, Not a big book reader myself, received this as a gift. Totally hooked, you just can't stop reading it.

Who knows if it is true or not, Like most things we will never find out, but after reading this it will defiantly change your perception on the whole Titanic Saga.

This is one of those conspiracy theories that you will either believe or not, make your own mind up, don't take any notice of these reviews, just see for yourself.

Complete Rubbish
This book is the biggest pile of rubbish there is. The events in this book are just not true. Do you really think that all of the people who could have made those changes, and Captain Smith, the most famous and trusted captain of the white star line, would keep hush about this?
It maybe an interesting theory but it just a horrible play on the truth. It WAS the Titanic that sank as it has been proved as the ship number 401 was descoverd on the Titanic's propeller while Olympic's number was 400.
Maybe a good read but compleatly fake.
Total nonsense
A lot of fantastic theories from an author that never saw a ship.Talking of substitutions, changing names and ships as if a liner of that size could be hidden in front of thousand people is simply ridiculous.More than that accusing Master,Officers and Crew of absolute incapacity means not knowing anything about sea-life. As a ship master myself i would have done the same things,in the same situation.Shipbuilders of the time did a wonderful job,and what happened was unpredictable. And dead cannot reply.A bad,bad work, plagued in my case with a childish italian translation that at a certain point declares that Olympic was converted in an..OIL TANKER!!(stupid confusion from coal firing and oil firing). As a seafarer i'm deeply outraged.I gladly threw the book in the garbage.
