Finally. A book that actually manages to explain a lot of Thompson's notoriously mercurial and hostile prose. You get a sense of 'Gonzo' journalism taking shape and Thompson's demented persona. Pure vicious political satire lost in hedonistic chemical excess. Everything you'd ever need to know about Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. Cool photos of Hunter S and The Attorney in Vegas. Pure literary history. Check this out. Only one last question remains, though: after the waste of recycled paper that was the amateurish Rum Diary, how long can the author coast on something he did 30 years ago? One to ponder... Graham Rae.
