A great read for Pug and all Dog Lovers

This book is highly amusing, and anyone who owns a pug should read it. The only thing I found irritating about it was the fact that the author criticised her poor other pug Sophie so much! But otherwise this is a great book, and had me laughing out loud at times.

A must have for anyone with a Pug!

Terrific read if you are at all interested in pugs

I grew up with a pug; she was my best friend (after her own selfish interests) until I went off to college. She lived until she was 14 and my mother has never gotten another dog. I now am partial to Great Pyrenees, owning two. But I have never forgetten Lizzie. It was wonderful "reliving" the experience through Clara. But this is a book that will delight more than just pug owners, although those that are will have a special understanding and appreciation for what Kaufman writes about. Anyone with a dog will appreciate it; there is a universal truth about what she writes about. A terrific beach or vacation book, esp. if you don't plan on interacting with anyone for awhile because it is hard to put down untill you are done! And when you are -- you'll wish there was the sequal.

Couldn't put it down!

Margo Kaufman sums up the pug persona perfectly. This book had me laughing all the way through. I started to read more slowly towards the end because I didn't want it to end. She should write a series following the Adventures of Clara.

Everything you need to know about the personality of a pug!

I stayed up until 3:30 a.m. just so I could finish this book! It was as if I were reading about my own 2 pugs, Reno Devito and Rosie O'Doggell. I don't think I've ever laughed out loud at a book like I did at this one. This book now has me scanning the Internet, trying to locate other publications about pugs, when before I was content to just live with and love the pugs. I now know the truth about my own life: I, too, am owned by the pugs! Seriously, if you want to read a book that is well-written, highly entertaining, and also hits the nail on the head, so to speak, then you've got to read CLARA. It's absolutely the best thing I've read in a long time. I'm sending it on to other pug parents. It should be required reading for all pug owners/ownees.
