Not bad

This is a good adaption from the amazing video game. It fills in a lot of chunks formally left out in the game, like alot of the characters back story and a bit more info on the umbrella corp. etc.
Theres not many thrills and its a bit bland in parts.

Starting The STARS Trail?

If you have played the game then the book gives you a bit more insite into the characters as well as the story line. The book DOES remain faithful to the game, but there are still the extra odd tweaks to the book that give it more edge than the game,it also does answer some of the questions that you are left with at the end of playing the game. The book is half horror and also a bit of science fiction thrown in it is a great read for all you Resident Evil fans but it is NOT a book for the Faint Of Heart. It's a very hard book NOT TO PUT DOWN.

Best of the Series
|
Having read Caliban Cove before this title, I wasn't sure whether it would be as good or not. Caliban Cove took a little while to get into it, but then it had a very good plotline and had some vrey original ideas in it. But I bought this at the same time as Underworld (worst in the series by far) and honestly I was hooked. I've loved every single game of Resident Evil, and Umbrella Conspiracy goes perfectly with the original hit (now coming out on DS as Deadly Silence!). The novel hooks you in with the action much sooner than Caliban Cove, and many of the characters are described in much more detail than is portrayed in the games (i.e. Joseph Frost is described in much more detail and this adds to his sudden tragic death in the early part of the novel). The only problem with this novel is that it depends much on you having played the game itself, or else you may well get confused when you read descriptions of rooms that you can't imagine! This is an amazing novel, and one of my all time favourites, and as the dialog and context is quite easy to read you can just pick it up and have a relaxing time in the 'world of survival horror'!

A must-have for all Resident Evil fans

This book is amazing. Those who have played and completed the Resident Evil game will be surprised at how much the book keeps with the plot. Just like I did, fans will read the book and understand exactly what the characters are going through as players would have experienced fighting the same monsters and solving the same puzzles as the characters in the book. The only troublesome thing I found with reading the book was that the grammer is very American (with the author being American also, I'm guessing). But if you ignore the strange American phrases and wording you'll come across every few pages, and detailed description of S.T.A.R.S weaponry, you'll have no problem understanding what is going on. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE GEM IN MY RESIDENT EVIL COLLECTION. MAKE IT YOURS TOO AND BUY THE BOOK.

Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine......but Paper-back!

As soon as i bought, read and read again the book, "Zero Hour" (also by S.D Perry) i wanted to read the next book in the series. S.D Perry writes with so much accuracy and detail that pulls you back through the whole experience of playing Resident Evil, and let me tell you...its Awesome. It is quite a short read but that is expected. Short does not necessarily mean bad, it is an overall awesome story with no faults or "dull" episodes. It kept me gripped all the way through the book and i am now about to buy the next one. This books sheds some new light and injects a rush of new theories that you may not have even thought about before....a must have for any Horror readers out there and most definately Resident Evil fans....this book rocks!
