Editorial Reviews:
With the dawn of the new millennium at the top of everyone's talk list, Russell Ash has put together a stunning fact book that gives a unique insight into the events that have shaped the world.

1000 years of fascinating facts combined in a classic Dorling Kindersley book will not only capture the imaginations of children everywhere, but will intrigue adults who just like to have a pile of fascinating facts at their fingertips.

If you ever wanted to know why Lady Godiva rode naked through the streets, what year the Austrian Birdman fell to his death from the Eiffel Tower, or when the first pasta-making machine was used, then look no further.

A brilliant book, filled with page after page of things you didn't know you wanted to know, Fantastic Millennium Facts is just the thing for curious minds. (Age 8 and over) --Susan Harrison

Customer Reviews:
well presented, concise, but lacking in real detail.
A simple idea, and a useful book if you have a purpose for it. Good for budding journalists who want a reliable and compact list of anniversary dates for historical events without having to wade through encyclopaedias for the initial ideas. Handy also for using as a reference for writing quizzes. The book does not however provide any details about its entries - they are just listed in a matter-of-fact manner in groups of one-hundred-year periods. The book is very nicely presented, with lots of attractive, colourful photographs and pictures, and it is laid out in an easy-to-follow and attractive way. School children may find it quite interesting, though without the "story" behind each event, whether they would actually be able to remember a set list of dates and happenings is debatable. They would probably gain more from it if some extra information was provided. Having said that, it would still be a useful resource for their school projects. For the price, it seems a good buy, and it is obvious a lot of time and effort has been put into publishing it.
