My boyfriend found this book and, to be frank, I was sceptical, but he really wanted to lose weight and I was happy to do the diet with him. We have stuck rigidly to the fat burning weeks and haven't felt hungry at all. Plus the recipes are delicious and varied enough to keep our interest (plus you can substitute carefully - I don't eat red meat, so I have fish from the fat burner list instead).
The stabiliser recipes have been harder to keep to and sometimes less practical (for example, eggs florentine for lunch at the office, or 3 different types of bread in a week when you only need 1 slice of each loaf). We have just been sensible and tried to substitute approved foods or, if we've had something off the list completely - dinner out - we've done a fat burning day before or afterwards.
Our weight loss has been great (22lbs and 15lbs in 6 weeks) and we both feel and look much healthier. The 2 weeks fat burning, 2 weeks stabilising works really well, as we all have occasions when we can't completely control what we're going to eat (parties, dinners), so we've tried to ensure they're in a stabiliser week.
Some tips: a food processor helps with the chopping for the soup; buy a wide necked flask to take soup wherever you go; start exercising, the weight comes off even quicker (you don't have to sweat it out at the gym - get a good pedometer and do your 10,000 steps a day); we start the FB week on a Tuesday so the meat cooking days fall at the weekend when we have more time to cook breakfast (and it feels like you're having brunch!).

I have NEVER been able to lose weight and have steadily piled on pounds over the years reaching 15 st at worst. In 6 weeks I was at 12st 10 lbs and after stopping the diet continued to 12 1/2 st. Every time I put on some weight, I go back on this and off it comes. It comes off from all the right areas too! It absolutely works and because it happens so fast (a stone in 2 weeks) you hardly get time to be bored with it.I am very impressed with this and recommend it. I am buying another copy cos I gave mine to a friend. He looks no different so must have eaten the book. You actually have to DO IT to see a difference but work it does. The menus are varied and you are never hungry. A diet that encourages you to eat as much as you want. It works on the principle of negative calorie foods. Eat food that requires more energy to digest it than it actually gives to the body. The result is fat loss. It's brilliant and it's quick. Good luck...

Dieting without feeling hungry

I didn't really expect this diet to work, having failed miserably with other diets. However, the recipes are lively, and the daily menus offer far more food than I could possibly eat. I have never felt hungry and weight loss is steady, although not dramatic. I think it is better than Atkins, although it seems to follow many of the same principles, because the diet is a little more balanced.Some carbohydrates are allowed now and again. So for those who are worried about the fat content of the Atkins diet, this offers a very good alternative. And you don't have to be a cordon bleu cook to make the recipes either!

Extremely effective and motivational

I have been on the plan for 10 days and have lost 4.3 kilos by day 9.I am very delighted since I have learned metabolic principles that I did not know, and am confident that I can be creative even after having followed the plan.From day 4 onwards I battled to eat soup at every meal since I am no longer that "hungry"!This plan can be applied intelligently and really works! Do not worry when your weight gets "stuck" on a particular day -it is simbly metabolic adjustment and you will continue loosing! Example:On day 8 I seem to have hit a standstill, but the next day I weighed substantially lower.

I am from South Africa and have been on the plan for 8 days now -I have lost 2.5 - 3 kg, but the fat loss is actually increasing for the last few days.I view the plan as a learning curve in understanding the dynamics of weight control and can easily design my own recipes I believe -once the principles are understood your creativity takes off.This book has added to my knowledge of wise eating and I am confident that I will loose all unhealthy fat in the course of the next few weeks.Some instructions are "absent" it appears -I am not sure whether the negative calory foods may be taken in the first two weeks as snacks: ex peanuts - if it is "negative calory food"" certainly one could consider moderate snacking on these?
