Does What It Says On The Tin!

I certainly would never have considered reading the Koran in its full version. The idea fills me with dread! I wanted something impartial and yet something that still delivers the clear facts. For my money, J Dean has achieved this.
The book is easy to navigate. It did however take me probably more than 3 hours over a period of 3 weeks. I felt it necessary to read a bit digest it then return for a re read. Bearing in mind this translation has allowed me to get away with heightening my knowledge exponentially yet NOT ploughing through 114 books I am pretty thankful.
My lack of cultural understanding of Arabic life has without a doubt been changed and a better understanding of their values and beliefs.
I feel far more confident and capable in any setting to discuss the Koran and am more comfortable learning from those more knowledgeable without feeling a complete idiot!
If you are looking for a clear and concise rendition, don't have enough time to read 114 books, and yet would like a greater understanding of the Koran and why it forms such a fundamental basis for Muslim societies then I can highly recommend.
