Not for beginners...
This book is probably better suited to improvers rather than beginners or people looking for a few easy songs to strum. It very quickly progresses to quite technical exercises that are beyond the scope of most beginners. I also found the songs included a bit obscure.

A ukulele education, a must have!
If you are content to strum away with the three chord trick then this is not the book for you. If however you want something more than this, then this is an excellent book. The explanation is clear and well considered, giving you all you need to create the foundation to becoming a ukukle musician. An opportunity to build a real understanding of the fretboard and avoid the 'monkey see monkey do' style of the countless chord boxes presented in other books. Calvin Chin is a real educator, and as for value for money this book is 100%+. There is one minus point, silly title, slap the publishers wrist.

Muddy explantions!

The way this book is written does not explain the techniques it claims to teach very clearly. It is written in a cold and over technical way and is not particularly user friendly.
