I have been using the seat61 website since 2002 and it has helped me plan loads of fab train trips - to Budapest, Berlin, Granada, Lisbon, Rome and others. Now the book means I can continue planning from the comfort of my Saturday morning lie in, dreaming the morning away! Not just Seat 61 - he deserves a seat in the House of Lords!

Lots of ideas on how to take trains and get to places. Have started to use it for travels, and am now taking much more civilised trips..... with the added bonus that you have no airport hassles, travel greener, take as much whisky and toothpaste as you like, and see the countryside! Read it and be inspired. It can work out just as cheap as air travel!

Everything is laid out in an easy to read format and a lot of the leg work is done for you. Full of handy tips and advice and even suggestions for a quick meal whilst awaiting your connection.
