Customer Reviews:
A good gripping read
My favourite of all of Dan's books, well it was the first of his books which i read.

From the outset of this book i was gripped, and i found it difficult to pull myself away from it. There was a very high action level to this book, and by the end of one chapter i just wanted to get on a read the next. It had a nice little twist at the end.

Why haven't i given it a higher rating, well, it is not really due to this book alone, probably unjustly, but due to all of Dan Brown's books and the 'samey' intrigue. If i had have left this book to read as the last of Dan Brown's books, then i would probably not have found it so fascinating and gripping

A good read, but if you intend to read all of Dan Brown's books, ensure you read a novel by a different author in between Dan's books to try and pull away from that 'samey' feel.

Enjoying read, but the science and characters are a bit off
While I have enjoyed all of Dan Brown's stories, I found Deception Point somewhat unbelievable and far-fetched on some of the adventures and science. For a work of fiction, an adventure and thriller, it meets the requirements, so long as you don't delve too deeply into the facts. The abilities of the characters also doesn't quite meet the mark, somewhat exaggerated and not in the realm of reality. I discovered a new thriller recently whose characters (unique) and strong science and facts, provided me with more thought-provoking ideas - Fusion, by Bruce Huntly. Huntly's techno-thriller has ideas and characters you can enjoy and take seriously, and he provides a possible solution to some of today's energy problems. I would recommend Fusion as a serious addition for readers of Dan Brown and Michael Crichton. Deception Point, a good book but I felt fell short on some of my expectations.
