It's not that bad really.

I have the priveledge of actually being taught by the great Graham Darby, and have found all the books he wrote both useful and insightful. I would recommend all prospective readers to ignore the comments of the review above. I will agree that the book maybe be lacking in certain details concerning 'Pobedonostsev', but this book was never intended for critical research. It is designed to give the reader an overview of the period as a whole, sparking their intrigue and compelling them to do further, more in depth reseasrch. In this objective it excels quite commendably.

A fantastic book which throughly describes the events leading up to and including the Russian Revolution. Darby wonderfully describes the regime of communism. Ideal for historians and others interested in this subject.
