Year 9 History sorted

Another superlative book in this series. Minds and Machines tackles the hardest year group and some of the toughest topics in an entertaining and carefully planned manner. Each chapter is designed to lead to a piece of extended writing - sometimes a conventional 'essay', but sometimes notes for a TV programme or for a guide for historians - and carefully constructed tasks ensure students of all abilities will have the information and understanding needed to succeed at these. Favourite chapters of mine include a look at factory working conditions for children (where a difficult topic, the limitations of evidence - is gently explored) and an examination of the variety of reasons for the passing of hthe Public Health Acts. With clear prose and - as always - bright, entertaining illustrations - this is invaluable. Buy it, use it, benefit from it.
