Jedi Search, Ken J Anderson

This is a excellent Star Wars novel. There were some passages where I felt I was watching a typical scene from the film. I'd very much recommend this first book in the Jedi Academy trilogy.

This book is by far the best i have read in the expanded universe novels. it is gripping, exciting and in my expirernece you will need somenone to tear the books out of hands to stop one from reading it.
In terms of storyline, it is extremely exciting beacuse luke is finally going to search for potential jedi and establish an academy. From which are born many more legendary characters such as corran horn, mara jade, kyp durron etc. you MUST read this book if you want to find out what happens next to the jedi.

Pretty awful read

All a bit far-fetched and unbelievable. Why would Daala wait in the black hole for 10 years if she had heard no news from Tarkin? You would have thought she would have become a bit curious after a year or so and sent out some scouts to find out what was going on - I mean 10 years with no contact from the outside world! And an indestructible ship with quantum armour plating?! Not very realistic. Some redeeming parts but few and far between.

I couldn't put this book down. When I flipped through it in the book shop I thought "rubbish". when I actually bought it I thought "Wow!" it was a bit like "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" in the fact that we had to wait to about chapter 20 before Daala actually appeared. The parts about Han were really good. The Dorth Moole charater was a bit iffy. So were the blobraces.

Wasn't sure of this one to start of with, but had bought the trilogy so kept with it. Everything happened very quickly and was then finished. The scenes with Han, as always were commanding and filled with adventure, although I still have to remind myself that the loveable rogue is Han Solo and not Harrison Ford. I never have had much time for Lando, but he does feature a lot in this trilogy. If you make it past the first book, you will get swamped by the second and third book -They are gripping! Unfortunately I had come across Daala before in Darksaber (I know, read out of sinq, but I didnt have the trilogy at the time) so I didnt expect much from her, although even if I had not of known her, she seemed to have the worst luck ever in basically loosing everything she had. In brief, all I can say is that it has all the favourite characters and some unexpected baddies. Stick with it, you will enjoy it.
