** Had Potential but ran out of Steam ***
|
This book was recommended to me so I thought I would give it a go. Initially it is gripping and entices you to want to read on. The thing I liked about it most was that the story was articulated in such a way that if I put the book down and went back to it a day or 2 later I would remember where I left off and what the current scenario was about, which I thought was good so more better reading to come...or so I thought.
As with the other reviewers, once you're over the half way mark in the book its like it loses steam or the momentum has slowed as if the author has got to a point where they were unsure which direction to take the story. So after much crying, much blurting of the hearts yada yada yada, as I was nearing the end all I thought I was "I'm going back to reading Belle De Jour or Hunter S Thompson books..lol" I totally lost interest at the end, just as well as the ending of the story is a bit bizarre, although I can see how the author was trying to create the irony of how the 2 main characters turned out 10 years later.
Is it worth a read? Probably, but its not one for keeping on the shelf, once you've read it, sell it on or give it to someone else. You'll just be glad you've moved on to your next book.

I found this book easy to read and finished it in about 2 days, It was pretty gripping but it did get quite repetitive- the characters end up crying and spilling their hearts out an awful lot! However I did enjoy reading it, and it made me laugh a few times although the ending was a bit weird !

OK....

Started off as a great read, I couldn't put it down and was desperate to know what happened next. However after the initial two thirds of the book the last third of the book became a bit repetitive ending with the most bizarre Epilogue/ending ever!
All in all an OK read but "not my cup of tea"!
